What we make from laminate
A tread is the horizontal surface you step on; the stair nosing is its finished front edge. For laminate, Tread Space makes the stair nosing from your flooring and custom-fits it to the approved flooring and stair details.

Why your own floor matters
Nosing made from the laminate you supply carries its color and pattern from the room onto the stair edge, rather than a coordinating stock trim.
The box label identifies the brand, product, color and SKU. Those details and the plank dimensions are reviewed together; a brand name alone does not establish fit.
Open sides and closed stairs
Closed stairs meet walls on both sides; open-sided stairs have an exposed end. Describe the sides for each step, standing at the bottom looking up, and photograph the full run. The written quote confirms which nosing suits your stair.
Measure each stair separately
Count the steps and record each stair width, measured at the front and back. Measure a loose plank for length, width and thickness, and include label and stair photos.
